German-based Klausner Holding USA announced five years ago it planned to build a lumber mill in Orangeburg County.

HELENA — A northwestern Montana lumber mill will close this spring and eliminate 90 jobs, chiefly because not enough national forest timber is available to supply the mill, its owner said Thursday.

The Belgrade stud mill will close permanently because of low market prices and lack of timber, according to an announcement Wednesday by owner Louisiana-Pacific Corp.That mill employs 137 people.
