Monotone and monoresonant are not the same! To avoid being monotone, you need to make sure you're using a variety of notes. Monoresonance is when you have a particular negative resonance that follows you all the way up nand down the range. Like a nasal voice. I know your vocal instrument has a ton of sounds to play around with.
