Many of our screening tests, the mammogram, the nuclear medicine scan, the cardiac calcium score, they lead to a lot of procedures but they do not improve survival- which is the only thing that matters. Ask yourself, why are you doing the test? What will you do if you fail the test? What kind of changes will you make. And then make those changes!
