Nothing makes me feel better than a sharp, clean edge along my flowerbeds. There are many alternatives to garden edges: brick, stone, and plastic. Plastic breaks, gets caught in the mower, and allows grass to creep in. Stone can work well but is expensive. Brick needs to be a landscaping-style variety and at least four inches deep to truly keep grass away. ⁠ ⁠ I use a half-moon edger to clean up the edges of most of my beds, providing a deep, clean trench. The process is pretty simple: 1. Run a
