This stunning shell is a Knobbed Whelk I found in Outer Banks. When I find these whelks, a lot of times they initially lack color or vibrancy (as you can see in the first few clips). 💙 . I'm not always able to photograph them as found, so in this case, I took this shell home to clean, then picked a beautiful overcast sky to photograph
