Sometimes the honest answer isn’t the comfortable one. As a speech-language pathologist, I hear “let’s just wait and see” all the time. And sometimes kids do catch up. But many don’t! Those gaps get bigger once reading, writing, and classroom learning start depending on strong speech sound and language skills. Early support doesn’t harm a child. Waiting sometimes does.
