Mewing is a popular exercise for improving the jaw line. BUT! Most people screw it up by missing some details. An important detail is being able to apply pressure to the roof of the mouth. If the tongue hangs over the molars pressure it reduces the effectiveness of the mewing. Strengthening the back of the tongue makes it narrower and allows for it to fit between the teeth and put strong pressure at the roof of the mouth.
