NOVELETTE IS TRYING is a series produced by Orange Rose Films that specifically highlights Black queer women in Vancouver. It follows Novelette, a young Jamaican-Canadian queer woman, who is anti-social, petty and a classic underachiever. When her partner ends their relationship, this throws Novelette’s whole life off-balance and what ensues is a journey of emotional growth and finding her purpose.
