The Elephants Trunk Nebula (IC 1396). This is a star forming region in Cepheus about 2400 light years away that contains many young stars recently created. The hot young stars ionize the surrounding gas causing them to glow. The entire nebula is over 100 light years in diameter and the trunk itself (bottom) stretches 20 lights years. I shot this with my remote telescope over 4 nights and accumulated 27 hours of exposure time!Telescope: William Optics Pleiades 111 f/4.8Camera: Zwo ASI 6200MM ProE
