The 3-2-1 Teaching Strategy is a quick way to check for student understanding. It is a formative assessment in which students write: 3) three key terms or phrases from the day’s lesson 2) two things they would like to learn more about 1) and one concept they have mastered. There are many other variations of this activity, but the basic idea is the same: 3 things, 2 things, and 1 thing all on a small piece of paper or index card.
